So what does it mean to walk in the favor of God?

The biblical definition of favor means gaining approval, acceptance, special benefits or blessings.

When it comes to favor there is also a close connection among favor, grace, and mercy,

The favor that people receive from God depends on his good pleasure and is often extended in response to prayer or righteous living.

You can actually grow in favor,

1 Samuel 2:26

Now the boy Samuel was growing in stature and in favor both with the LORD and with men.

Luke 2:52

And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Walking in the favor of God does not mean that you will not have trouble or face challenges at one point or another in your life,

What it means is that though facing all these things, you will clearly see God’s hand in your life as you continue to believe and to put all your trust and faith in him.

Regardless of the storms going on around you, the circumstances we all face at some point in our lives.

We are told in the book of Genesis 6:8-9 that Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time,

and he walked faithfully with God.
But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

Noah had his fair share of troubles during his time but it didn’t keep him from walking
faithfully with God.

The same goes for Abraham
Because he believed the Lord, it was counted to him as righteousness.

Favor comes from believing in Jesus Christ,
this includes all the spiritual blessings we have received in the heavenly realms from the Father because we are united with Christ.
Ephesians 1:3

Also all the promises we have also received in Christ that are “Yes” and “Amen”
2 Corinthians 1:20

When we walk with God as with our closest friend. We begin to see and appreciate the little blessings that God provides for our enjoyment

Blessings that we once took for granted.

Which also include the doors of opportunity that God opens in our lives.

Times when God makes a way for you in your life where there was no way.

God is the solution to all your problems,
He is the way maker and
a miracle worker in your life

God is the source of divine favor in your life as a believer in Christ.

He is all powerful, all knowing and ever present.

That is who God is and much much more.

May you continue to walk in the divine favor of God as you continue to trust and obey him in every area of your lives.

God put an image on my mind and what I saw was waters going forth continuously,

At first, it made me wonder why God was showing it to me.

It was only afterwards that I understood why.

God has been speaking about Times of Refreshing in a Christian’s life.

God wants you to embrace times of refreshing which are of great importance in your life and mine.

Times of refreshing are often experienced after going through spiritual seasons at some point in our lives.

Every believer goes through seasons,

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some of the seasons believers go through at some point in their Christian life are as follows:

– Seasons of Wilderness experience
– Seasons of Testing
– Seasons of Temptation
– Seasons of chastising
– Seasons of pruning
– Seasons of teaching
– Seasons of uncertainty

Each of these seasons serves it’s own purpose. After which times of refreshing come.

These are the refreshing waters of the holy spirit.

God let’s us experience times of refreshing
in order to refresh our Spirit, Heart, Soul (includes mind) and Strength.

God wants to restore and reinvigorate
(to give new energy or strength) us.

The key thing to do when experiencing the times of refreshing is to let God have his way in your life and refresh what needs to be refreshed.

Allow God to refresh you in order to restore and revive the effects that some of the seasons had on you in your life.

As the waters wash over us, we are renewed, revitalised and restored.

Psalm 23:1-3 speaks about our soul being refreshed by God.

Jeremiah 31:25
I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Psalm 19:7
The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.

God uses people as well as his word which as you know is the Bible to bring times of refreshing in our lives so that we can be well watered again.

My prayer is for times of refreshing to come in your lives so that you can be encouraged, strengthened, renewed and restored in your Spirit, Soul, Heart and Body.

God Bless

So what does it mean to do things
your way vs God’s way,

The fact is, it is in our human nature to want to do things our own way.

However, when a person begins their Christian walk with the Lord, that is when it starts becoming clear that doing things God’s way works every time.

This is because God has your life all figured out,

God has the right pieces to make the puzzle of your life fit together.

What is important for you to remember is that who you are is rooted in Jesus Christ,

Doing things our own way can only take us so far before it all starts going wrong,
before we run out of our own energy and strength that has been keeping us going.

God’s way supplies you with spiritual energy and strength to keep you moving when you were expected to have stopped.

Our own way is temporal, where as doing things God’s way is permanent.

God’s way is permanent, it’s eternal.

So what happens when we as believers do things God’s way

1. We no longer need to rely on our own strength but on the strength of God.
Striving to do things in your own strength will only leave you feeling tired, worn out and frustrated.

2. We want to please God by living a life that is pleasing and acceptable to him.

3. We Rest in Him, by letting God do his work in our lives, this keeps us from worrying, being impatient, losing our peace, joy and hope.

4. We will not be tempted beyond what we can bear, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says,

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

5. We learn what it is to humble ourselves before the Lord.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:10

6. We become more aware of other people not just ourselves.
It is about moving from a place of
self centeredness to a place of selflessness and actually starting to think about other people and not just ourselves.

7. We learn the importance of submission, obedience and trust when it comes to our own personal relationship with God.

God’s ways are not our ways,

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

As the heavens are higher than the earth,

so are my ways higher than your ways

and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:8-9

There is also a way that seems right to a person,

but its end is the way that leads to death.
Proverbs 14:12

According to Proverbs 3:5-6,

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight.

People may be right in their own eyes,
but the Lord examines their heart.

What it comes down to is that doing things God’s way leads to life whereas doing things in our own way only leads to destruction.

God knows what is best for you.

My prayer is that you continue to allow God to have his way in every area of your life through the power of the holy spirit.
